A popular part of past ICPS conferences have been the scientific excursions. These are a selection of site visits to areas and facilities of scientific interest in and around the host city and are designed to give visiting delegates the opportunity to experience part of the country's scientific community. All have a scientific or engineering theme, and many also have a substantial historical or cultural element.
The Scientific Excursions for ICPS 2007 take place on Tuesday August 14th 2007.
Several of the trips include more than one actual venue, on the same site or nearby. Some are in London, and others are a few hours’ coach journey away; the total duration given for each venue include travel to the venue and back, as well as time for the visit itself and for lunch.Full-day excursions take about 10 hours and run from approximately 09:00 to 19:00; those choosing shorter excursions will have some free time afterwards.
There will not be any additional charges for the excursions or for transport to and from the venues. However, in some cases we have mentioned additional attractions which are not part of the excursion, but which you may wish to look at whilst on site. If these require you to make an extra payment we will say so.
You will be asked to select one choice of excursion destination when you register for the conference. Places on each excursion are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so register soon to make sure you don't miss out. Click here for a full list of excursion choices.
